Marlie arrived in the United States with an unimaginably large and deforming tumor-like growth on her face. Not only was this growth affecting her respiratory system, but it had left her unable to eat or speak; basic abilities most of us take for granted. Marlie’s story has moved thousands of generous souls to spring into action. People like YOU are making it possible for Marlie to receive the attention she urgently needs.
Upon regaining the ability to speak after six years, Marlie thanked all of the people who have helped her along her grueling journey to recovery. Although Marlie continues to require medical attention she has grown and progressed tremendously. She has been transformed not only physically but emotionally as well. Marlie has YOU to thank for her “new voice.” Thank YOU immensely for joining us in the making of a miracle.
In October 2014, Marlie returned to Miami for treatment. After undergoing a medical evaluation, doctors determined she was in need of surgery. Marlie underwent several surgical procedures to open up a close her nasal passage and to replace two nasal tubes. She returned home on January 28, 2015, and will come back for follow-up treatment as needed.
We have been blessed to witness Marlie’s transformation into a bright, strong-willed young woman and thank you for your support.
Marlie underwent surgery on October 30, 2012. Her surgery went very well and she was able to go back home on November 20.
Thank you for your continued support of this amazing young lady. Marlie touches the hearts of many, her determination is an inspiration to us all.
Thank you for making a difference.
